[Marvel] Marvel to release remastered editions of original Original Trilogy comic adaptations
Comic Book Resources[External site - opens in a new window/tab] has reported that Marvel are planning to re-release an oversized, remastered hardcover version of their original comic adaptation of A New Hope from 1977. As can be seen from the comparison image below, each panel has been completely recoloured by Chris Sotomayor. It has a planned release date for May 2015 with remastered adaptations of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi expected later.

From CBR.com:
"
Marvel Comics expands its growing line of "Star Wars" comics in May with the announcement of its plans for an oversized, remastered hardcover edition of the original adaptation of George Lucas' seminal creation.
"Under a new cover by Adi Granov, Roy Thomas and Howard Chaykin's adaptation of "A New Hope" -- fully recolored by Chris Sotomayor -- will be reprinted in full, including the scenes which Marvel readers experienced in 1977 that never made it to the big screen in Lucas' final cut.
"When Star Wars took the world by storm in 1977, Marvel Comics was right there with exciting comic adaptations and new stories set in a galaxy far, far away," Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel said via press release. "With new Star Wars comics being published by Marvel in 2015, we’re proud to look back on this exciting remastered adaptation of the original film, with remastered adaptations of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi coming later in 2015."

Tarkin
By James Luceno
Reviewed by Ewan, Star Wars Books & Comics
Following the success of Darth Plagueis, James Luceno returns with another character study: that of Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin. In short, this is an explanation why this character was so ruthless in Episode IV when he ordered the destruction of a planet and the deaths of millions of beings without even batting an eyelid...read full review

While many of us will be familiar with many of McQuarrie's images, especially those iconic ones that have been seen over and over again, this 12" x 9" book presents more than seventy of his pictures in a layout chosen to both compliment Diterlizzi's writing style and maximise their presentation on the reader's eyes. While the activities in the attached story book primarily consist of puzzles, wordsearches, spot-the-difference etc, may feel like filler in what appears to be a rather expensive children's book, it is the enjoyment of the construction of the paper kit, especially when shared with your child [...] that makes the price tag more appealing. [Lords of the Sith] Expanded blurb for Lords of the Sith
RandomHouse.com have updated their listings page[External site - opens in a new window/tab] for Paul S. Kemp's forthcoming Lords of the Sith novel with a full blurb:

When the Emperor and his notorious apprentice, Darth Vader, find themselves stranded in the middle of insurgent action on an inhospitable planet, they must rely on each other, the Force, and their own ruthlessness to prevail.
“It appears things are as you suspected, Lord Vader. We are indeed hunted.”
Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Knight, is just a memory. Darth Vader, newly anointed Sith Lord, is ascendant. The Emperor’s chosen apprentice has swiftly proven his loyalty to the dark side. Still, the history of the Sith Order is one of duplicity, betrayal, and acolytes violently usurping their Masters—and the truest measure of Vader’s allegiance has yet to be taken. Until now.
On Ryloth, a planet crucial to the growing Empire as a source of slave labor and the narcotic known as “spice,” an aggressive resistance movement has arisen, led by Cham Syndulla, an idealistic freedom fighter, and Isval, a vengeful former slave. But Emperor Palpatine means to control the embattled world and its precious resources—by political power or firepower—and he will be neither intimidated nor denied. Accompanied by his merciless disciple, Darth Vader, he sets out on a rare personal mission to ensure his will is done.
For Syndulla and Isval, it’s the opportunity to strike at the very heart of the ruthless dictatorship sweeping the galaxy. And for the Emperor and Darth Vader, Ryloth becomes more than just a matter of putting down an insurrection: When an ambush sends them crashing to the planet’s surface, where inhospitable terrain and an army of resistance fighters await them, they will find their relationship tested as never before. With only their lightsabers, the dark side of the Force, and each other to depend on, the two Sith must decide if the brutal bond they share will make them victorious allies or lethal adversaries.

Lords of the Sith by Paul S. Kemp is due for release in hardback, e-Book and digital unabridged Audio Book formats on 28th April 2015 in the US and early March in the UK.
